This post is rated G and is suitable for all audiences.

The Comedy Network runs a message before many of their programs warning us of impending "mild language" and it drives me crazy.

What the warning seems to mean is that the show doesn't have swear words but does have some phrases that people might object to.  That, my friends, isn't "mild language"; it's "mild bad language" or "mildly offensive language."   Mild language would be things like "Would you like a spot of tea?" or "Land's sakes, Mr. Pennyfeather, what a rapscallion you are!"

In summation, whoever is writing these warnings is a language-impaired pickaninny ne'er-do-well who can EAT MY GIANT BLUEBERRY SCONE.  With BUTTER.

Thank you.

Check out more of my work!

So, I have a number of paintings that aren't listed in my store...and I've finally gotten around to setting up a GALLERY PAGE where you can check 'em out!

You can access the gallery from anywhere on my blog by clicking the link to the right (under "pages")...or you can just click here.

There's also a gallery (with different paintings!) on my Facebook fan page if you wanna go see.

Shoutout Sunday: Casey Stratton

I discovered Casey Stratton when I was randomly browsing YouTube for Tori Amos covers.  I stumbled over this video and was blown away at Caseys dead on Tori Amos impression (at first I thought he must be lipsynching...but he's not!).  I get goosebumps every freaking time.
Well, you know me - I'm obsessed with gender-bending in all its wonderful forms.  So clearly I had to look up everything I could about this man with the angelic female voice - and I discovered that he sings original songs, too!  His true singing voice is different from his deliberately Tori-fied voice - maybe a little more androgynous-sounding than female-sounding - but no less beautiful.  I bought his album Standing at the Edge on iTunes and it's just so, so lovely.  I listen to it while I paint and the melodies seem to fill up my heart and come flowing off my paintbrush.

And shame on me for being so superficial but I have to say it: I think Casey is really, really cute. :D

You can (and should!) purchase Casey's music directly right here.

Yeah, fine, I probably would've done it anyway.

So this post on Regretsy caused me to make a painting of a dog dressed as a '50s starlet in hopes of getting a prize and/or a shoutout from their illustrious webmistress.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you...WEIMARANER MONROE!

(Edited to add: I was originally going to sell this painting, but ended up using it for my very first FREE GIVEAWAY on Facebook instead. If you become a fan of my Facebook page, you could win free stuff, too!)

Her boobs are so firm you just know they're fake.

How to Feel Both Epic and Mighty!

I've never read a Harry Potter book.  I have nothing against them, I'm just not that interested/never got around to it/whatever.

But I have discovered that it's fun to mentally put events in my life in the form of Harry Potter titles.  Observe!

Harry Potter and the Useless Cat
Harry Potter and the Terrible Ad Campaign
Harry Potter and the Uppity Camwhore
Harry Potter and the Vomit-Filled Shoes

Harry Potterization turns even the most banal "life moments" into epic tales of adventure and derring-do.  I highly recommend it.  It works even better if you say the titles out loud in kind of a James Earl  Jones voice while imagining dramatic music in the background.

I'M BACK!

I have teh internetz again, just like normal people!  Which means I can resume regaling all of you with posts on an approximately daily basis!  Which is awesome because telling anecdotes about my life to the cat, The Boy, and my plush hippopotamus* was starting to feel a bit awkward.  It had gotten to a point where I was all :o) and they were all :| and nobody was LOLing.

So, yeah.  I missed you guys!  Did anything happen on the internet while I was gone?

*His name is "Mr. Hippo."  Yeah, I know.  It just kinda happened.
